Deepa Desai, a Mumbai based business woman, and proprietor of Yoogi Sporting Goods, serves on the Sporrtslife Board of Directors.
A proud wife and mother of two daughters, Deepa is no stranger to the world of sports and participates actively in her local cricket association.
She is a firm believer that there should always be space for women in sports, and truly enjoys the benefits she experiences by continuing to play cricket even into her adult years. Whenever possible, she encourages her daughters to participate in sporting activities locally and within the school setting.
While cricket is unquestionably one of her passions, she also enjoys dancing, traveling, and spending time with her family – especially around the carrom board. She is ever-encouraging of all women and girls to participate in team sports no matter the level because as she is known to say, “the confidence and friendships borne of competitive sports are in some ways even more valuable than winning the match.”
